The Lower Adirondacks are located near the Bouldering Program area. Consisting of 4 three-sided structures, each building contains two bunkbeds to sleep 4 people each. There is a nearby area that is suitable for a few tents as well. A composting restroom facility is nearby, while water is available year-round at the Ranger’s House. A fire pit is nearby and can be used with deadfall wood found around the camp (split cordwood is only available for units renting cabins).
Tom’s Cabin
Tom’s Cabin is located near the camp parking lot and two campsites. A large bunkhouse, the building has space for 28 using a mix of bunkbeds and folding cots. A pellet stove is used to supplement the electric heat used to heat the building. Pellet fuel is provided. There is a large fire pit nearby that can be used for evening campfires. The camp composting restroom facility is a short walk, as is year-round water at the Ranger’s House.
Nature/Briggs Lodge
The Briggs Lodge is a small cabin perfect for one patrol. Newly renovated, the building has space for 7 people in two rooms (5 & 2). The cabin has a mix of bunk beds and folding cots. A wood stove is in the building and provides ample heat from the camp’s split cord wood. A compositing restroom facility is a short walk away. Seasonal water is only a few feet away while year-round water is located at the Ranger’s House.
Magee Cabin (Waterfront)
The Magee Cabin (also known as the Waterfront Cabin) is located near the lake and dam. The building consists of one bunk room with space for 20 using a mix of bunk beds and folding cots. The building is insulated and has modern windows. A wood stove provides an ample heat source for the building while a nearby fire pit is great for campfires at night. A compositing restroom facility is located about 500′ away. Seasonal water is available less than 20′ away while year-round water can be found at the Ranger’s House.
Health Lodge
The Health Lodge is located nearby the Dining Hall and camp restroom facility. The building is divided into two rooms that sleep 7 and 2 each. Bunkbeds and folding cots are provided. There is no fire pit area nearby, but the cabin has a wood stove and access to the camp’s split cord wood. Water is available year-round at the Ranger’s House.
Mohegan Lodge
A large main room has eight double bunks for a capacity of 26 youth. This main room eventually will have a folding wall allowing separate quarters for male and female youth as needed. There are two adult bunk rooms each sleeping five individuals. If one of the adult bunk rooms is not needed by a particular unit, youth may be housed there as well. Tables, chairs, and wi-fi are also available in this building.
The Mohegan Lodge is heated with a propane-fired forced hot air heating system. This facility is intended primarily as a warm place to sleep and do limited activities in cold-weather months. The Mohegan Lodge does not have bathrooms but the year-round Boonesville Restroom is a short walk away. Likewise, this building does not have a kitchen and cooking is not allowed indoors. Half-barrels and picnic tables are available outdoors and units are encouraged to bring whatever shelters and cooking equipment they normally do for camping trips. Water is available at the Magee Lodge as is true for all of East Camp in the cold weather months. Parking areas near the Mohegan Lodge are plowed in winter.
Units seeking heated amenities including kitchen, dining, bathrooms, and showers are welcome to rent the West Lodge and/or Venture Lodge.
Outpost
The Outpost campsite is located at the extreme northern end of camp and is perfect for the unit that wants to have a more primitive camping experience. The site is located right off of Upper Jaffrey Rd. and has a number of three-sided adirondacks with bunk beds (bring your own camp mattress). The site is open and has plenty of space for your unit to spread out for the weekend. The campsite has a gathering area and fire pit for those endless evening campfires. The campsite also has a number of picnic tables to gather around. Water is available at the Ranger’s house and the shower house is a short hike away (Seasonal Water Availability). Cars can park in the campsite as long as they are off the road. Additional vehicles need to be parked in one of the camp parking lots.
Memorial Lodge
Memorial Lodge is located in the main parking lot of the camp. The cabin was initially constructed to house the camp museum but the need of housing for camp staff and seasonal rentals converted the building into a bunkhouse. This cabin is divided into two rooms with bunk beds perfect to separate youth and adults. A nearby area outside is perfect for your unit to set up an outdoor kitchen while you enjoy your meal inside the warmth of the cabin from the wood stove. The lower camp composting restroom facility is just a few steps away. Water is available nearby and the camp shower house is just a short walk away. The camp amphitheater is around the corner and units can use the fire pit located there for a late night campfire. Wi-Fi internet is available at the nearby Administration building, however it is limited in speed.
Grand Monadnock Lodge
The Grand Monadnock Lodge (formally the Green Cabin) is located in the Main Field of the camp. Named after The Grand Monadnock Lodge #309, the cabin underwent a major overhaul thanks to the donation of the lodge and a matching service grant from the National Order of the Arrow Committee. This cabin is divided into three rooms with 4 bunk beds each and is the perfect accommodation for a Venturing Crew or multiple units camping together while maintaining Youth Protection standards. A covered deck off the back of the cabin is the perfect place for your unit to gather during meals while a nearby clearing provides your unit a place to set up a kitchen. The cabin is heated with set-back timers. The lower camp composting restroom facility is just a few steps away. Water is available nearby and the camp shower house is just a short walk away. The camp amphitheater is around the corner and units can use the fire pit located there for a late night campfire. Wi-Fi internet is available, however is limited in speed.
Waterfront Cabin
Waterfront Cabin is located in the main field of the camp. This cabin is divided into two rooms with bunk beds perfect to separate youth and adults. A nearby area outside is perfect for your unit to set up an outdoor kitchen while you enjoy your meal inside the warmth of the cabin from the wood stove. The unit renting this cabin also has access to an outdoor grill that can be used with wood or charcoal. The lower camp composting restroom facility is just a few steps away. Water is available nearby and the camp shower house is just a short walk away. A small fire pit is just outside the cabin for a late night campfire. Wi-Fi internet is available at the nearby Boathouse, however it is limited in speed.
