Baden-Powell Campsite

Nestled in a majestic pine forest, Baden-Powell is located toward the top of the hill in close proximity to major program areas. One of the camper platforms is fully handicapped accessible. There is one leader tent for a maximum of three adults.

Extra adults can always be housed in unused camper tents. Though not a designated troop cooking site, the hard-roofed shelter has the cooking extension for extra troop equipment storage space. There is a hard-roofed shelter and pit tank latrine. The latrine and hard-roofed shelter both have solar-powered LED lighting systems (summer only). This campsite is available for fall-winter-spring camping, though the access road is normally plowed only as far as the Shooting Sports gate.

Hemlocks Campsite

If you want both privacy and scenery, Hemlocks is the campsite for you! Situated at the southern-most section of camp, on a shelf overlooking beautiful Browning Pond, it is closest to the Waterfront, Handicrafts, Sports, and Trading Post. Hemlocks has five patrols sites with a total capacity of 40 Scouts. There are two leader tents holding a maximum of three adults each. There is a pit tank latrine. Hemlocks is a designated troop cooking campsite with a cooking extension. The cooking extension now includes a food storage cabinet and a propane stove, griddle, and hot water heater. Both the latrine and hard-roofed shelter have solar powered LED lighting systems (summer only). This campsite is available for fall and spring camping. This campsite is NOT available for winter camping when there is snow on the ground.

South Pavilion

Pavilion located on the South side of Ridge Road, just above the Boonesville parking lot. Restrooms located just a short walk from the shelter at the Boonesville Latrine. Picnic tables provided with the shelter. Half barrels available on request.

Smith Craft Pavilion

The Smith Family Pavilion is the home of the summer camp handicraft program. This pavilion is a large open air pavilion that can be used for gatherings, trainings, or whatever your unit can think of. A number of cafeteria style folding tables are in the pavilion, as well as lights and electricity. Access to the storage room is not available to rentals. A nearby wash sink is available with seasonal water. Renters can use the back entrance of the Main Field to load/unload supplies but parking for all vehicles is in the main parking lot. Renters can also use parts of the main field.

Merrimac Campsite

The Merrimac campsite is centrally located on Ranger Jack Way and is the camp’s most accessible campsite. The only campsite in camp with access to a composting restroom facility in the site, the site is open and has plenty of space for your unit to spread out for the weekend. The campsite has a gathering area and fire pit for those endless evening campfires. Outfitted with tent platforms, the campsite also has a number of picnic tables to gather around. An accessible three sided hard shelter is great for evenings where the poor weather. Water is available at the campsite latrine while the centrally located shower house is only steps away (Seasonal Water Availability). A few cars can park nearby while maintaining emergency access. Other vehicles park in the main parking lot.

Sioux Campsite

The Sioux campsite is located on the western side of camp and is a large size campsite. This is the only campsite in camp with a direct view of the grand Mount Monadnock. The site is open and has plenty of space for your unit to spread out for the weekend. One of only a few campsite in camp that can be divided, the site is organized into Big Sioux and Little Sioux. Each part has a gathering area and fire pit for those endless evening campfires. Outfitted with tent platforms, the campsite also has a number of picnic tables to gather around. This is one of the only campsites with a small shelter to allow you to get out of bad weather. Water is available nearby at the campsite latrine while the centrally located shower house is only a few minutes away (Seasonal Water Availability). The campsite has access to the nearby composting restroom facility. Some cars can park near the campsite while maintaining emergency access. Other cars can park in in a small lot nearby or the western parking lot near the composting restroom.
